Taxis could beat Uber at their own game!
The disruptive ride sharing company Uber is causing a lot of grief for traditional taxi companies – It doesn’t have to be that way!
Here’s a great customer service story about a taxi driver… He always kept multiple copies of the daily newspaper, free snacks and other little things in his taxi for his customers. He was friendly and offered lots of tourist info, local knowledge and could even tell some good, clean jokes.
As well as being shockingly enjoyable for the customers, it was not only fun for him too – his tips were way higher than the other drivers!
How hard could it be for a taxi service to reposition themselves as the “friendly, fun, and completely legal alternative”?
If I was given this choice over Uber, I would be happy to pay the fee and enjoy the ride.
