Real Core Values in Small Business

One of the things we do for our business owner clients is to help them clarify and communicate their core values. When the values are clarified and communicated you might think the exercise is done, but we don't think so.

One of the things we do for our business owner clients is to help them clarify and communicate their core values.  We can create documents and posters that address the organization’s view on respect, integrity and honesty.

When the values are clarified and communicated you might think the exercise is done.

We don’t think so.

We believe “more is caught than is taught”. We ask the leadership to provide real-life examples of decisions and actions that are aligned with the core values. More importantly, we also ask them to provide examples of actions that undermine the core values.

We think the key to success is to eliminate the situations when an action is inconsistent with the core value.

And if the leadership would like to see the organization stick to its values, the commitment starts at the top.

Reminds me of one of our core values – integrity – doing the right thing even when no one else is watching – every time!
