Controlling What You Can

Are you a business owner unsure of how to navigate the rough waters ahead? So, what can you do? What can you control?

Businesses across the world are facing unprecedented challenges, some facing imminent closure, leaving many wondering about the future of their business which they worked so hard to build.

Are you a business owner unsure of how to navigate the rough waters ahead?

So, what can you do? What can you control?

Of the following three choices, which one would be the best actions for today?

1) Fret about the state of the market and the economy
2) Fix the world economy
3) Work on leveraging a strength or mitigating a weakness inside your business and within your control

Obviously, number 3!

Work on what you currently have the ability to control, over the next week:

  • Think about and document how your business will be different once restrictions begin to lift.
  • What message will you be communicating? How can your business once again become a part of your customer’s lives?
  • What can you do differently? How can you improve the value that your customers receive?
  • How can you move forward, ensure the safety of your employees while motivating them to do their best?
  • Can you streamline any processes to help your business ”get back to normal” as quickly as possible?
  • Apply gauges to your business. Take this time to learn where your business was financially in the months previous, create future revenue projections and make a plan to make it happen!
