Founded in 2003, TBT started as a traditional advisory services firm. But we’ve recently re-imagined ourselves to help serve you better. Our focus is now on creating tools and content to help educate and facilitate the development of business minded individuals like yourself towards your goals.

Owning, managing, or working at a small business can at times feel lonely and hard. But you are not alone. We take tremendous pride in helping make the lives of others better. Everything we do is with the goal of enabling and supporting others in their quest for additional time and money. Time and money that can be used to pursue the activities and people that make them happy.

Paul Foster, CPA, CA CEO and Founder, The Business Therapist®

Paul Foster, CPA, CA is the Founder and CEO of The Business Therapist®, an online resource, coach, and advisor for personal and business growth. Using first-hand client knowledge from over 30 years of experience, Paul provides tools and resources for small business owners, business coaching and advice, and entrepreneur mentoring. In 2010, Paul was recognized by his peers as the RANONE North American Advisor of the Year.

In 2011, Paul sold his accounting firm to focus his energy in the small business advisory field. He is a keen student of the thought leaders developing the ‘Business Model Canvas’ and who have launched the Lean Startup movement. He is currently working on merging these new methodologies into valuable resources for existing but innovative small business owners. Paul also pioneered (in partnership with Rick Solomon, CPA) over the last 3 years a unique program that takes the development of the soft skills of business owners to a deeper level. Having experienced it himself, the program provides an opportunity for personal transformation and delivers greater self-awareness, freedom and peacefulness.

Paul graduated with honors from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics in 1986. In 1987, he obtained his chartered accountant designation (CA, Canadian equivalent of U.S. CPA).

Since September, 2011 Paul has held the position, ‘Entrepreneur-in-Residence’ at the Odette School of Business and the Centre for Enterprise and Law at the University of Windsor. As part of this innovative experiential learning program, he mentors University of Windsor Law and Odette Business students, sharing his professional and entrepreneurial expertise.

Jenifer Foster The Business Therapist, family business help, therapyJenifer Foster, Partner

Jenifer is Partner at The Business Therapist®. She is a graduate of Parsons School of Design and has been freelancing in interior design for the last 25 years. Jen comes from an entrepreneurial family, contributing her talents while focusing on raising her three wonderful children. She’s naturally visual and a right-brained thinker. She creates intellectually stimulating interactions by challenging traditional assumptions.

Jen believes in abundance versus scarcity and enjoys living in the moment with appreciation. She is a respectful conserver of the great outdoors.

Rafael Giacomassi The Business TherapistRafael Giacomassi, Lean Startup Design Junior Advisor

Rafael Giacomassi is the newest member of The Business Therapist® as a Lean Startup Design Junior Advisor. Rafael is an undergraduate student in Mechanical Engineering in Brazil and is currently residing in Windsor, ON as part of his participation in a 16-month exchange program at the University of Windsor. As a student he has developed a diversified background by taking elective classes and developing research in Business and Management areas in addition to his Engineering Major.

Rafael has lived in Brazil, The United Stated of America and Canada, and has traveled to 12 different countries over the past few years. These international experiences give him the ability to adapt to new and challenging situations. Working, living and traveling abroad have made him insightful, sensitive to cultural differences and a global citizen.

When he’s not researching best practices in entrepreneurship, Rafael likes to go to the gym, play squash, and go on ski trips with his friends.


Liz Grady, Director of Digital Communications

As Director of Digital Communications for The Business Therapist®, Liz is a social media strategist, professional lurker, and website traffic controller. She holds a degree in history from the University of Windsor. Liz has a background of more than 10 years in sales and marketing as a residential real estate agent.

When she’s not researching best practices in social media marketing, Liz helps her community by volunteering for local fundraising and charity events.

She is very happily married with two fur kids. Liz is an NFL fan (go Browns!), loves to travel, a golf junkie and beer enthusiast.
